31 08 2010 – What Chiefs say about Probation’s capacity to do the job – Channel 4 News survey
The PCA cooperated with Channel 4 News by circulating a survey about probation capacity to our Council members, comprising the probation chiefs in England and Wales. Some 20 out of 35 chiefs responded in detail to the survey, which was divided into a series of multiple choice questions and room for comment. 24 05 2010 – Former Chief Inspector Lord Ramsbotham accuses Labour of destroying the probation service and leaving a prison service in crisis
Lord Ramsbotham said on Radio 4 Today programme this morning that Labour's probation and prison policy had been 'misdirected.' He was being interviewed about his foreword in the Prisons Handbook, an annual guide to the penal system of England and Wales, published today.
